Wellbeing
Campbelltown East Public School is committed to explicitly teaching and modelling positive behaviour and to supporting all students to be engaged with their learning. We promote quality teaching and learning opportunities in an environment that is inclusive, supportive, friendly and fun.
Our goal is to inspire every child to participate positively in the school community and beyond. All students are known, valued and cared for. Students are supported by whole–school wellbeing practices which are evidence based, equitable, explicitly taught and goal oriented. Principles of positive behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, inclusive practice, and social emotional learning underpin our daily practice. High expectations for student behaviour are established and maintained through effective role modelling, explicit teaching, and planned responses.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

What are our school rules?
Our school has 3 school rules: Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be a Learner. Through these 3 school rules our school promotes and maintains a positive learning environment through consistent modelling and encouragement of safe and respectful behaviour.
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
What is PBL?
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) creates positive school environments by using evidence-based, proactive whole-school systems to define, teach, and support appropriate student behaviours. It focuses on prevention, with increasing interventions for escalating problem behaviours. School teams set clear behaviour expectations, which are taught through targeted lessons and the Second Step program. Positive behaviours are acknowledged publicly, while problem behaviours have clear consequences. Behaviour is monitored regularly, and staff receive feedback. Support is provided at school-wide, setting, classroom, and individual levels to meet all students’ needs consistently.
PBL team of mascots include:

Sponge Betty Safety pants

Flora the Friendship Fairy
